What does it mean to have a place at the table? T What does it mean to have a place at the table? The Primary 1 students have been exploring this question through a long term project inspired by "The Dinner Party" by Judy Chicago. Each child is designing a personal table setting that reflects who they are, what they love, and what makes them unique. Over the next few weeks, these individual creations will come together as one collaborative installation. A celebration of identity, belonging, and the beauty of community! Adventures in Art Camp (Feb 23–27) invites children to explore materials, test ideas, and build meaning through hands-on, open-ended art making. Throughout the week, students will work with watercolor, paint, pastels, textiles, wood, and more, moving between 2-D and 3-D work as their ideas unfold in our studio. Remember those woven placemats we shared last week Remember those woven placemats we shared last week? That was your first hint, but the cat's out of the bag and we are ready to share more! Since returning from break, our students have begun a long term collaborative project inspired by Judy Chicago and her installation The Dinner Party. They are creating personalized table settings that reflect who they are, their ideas, interests, and ways of working. Over the coming weeks, each individual piece will join together as one shared sculptural installation, shaped slowly and thoughtfully by our Primary 1 community.💙 This work centers process, identity, and collaboration, and gives students time to return to ideas, materials, and one another.
