Your child’s confidence will soar and they will beam with pride as they share their new drawing skills with you. The Creative Path Youth Drawing Program, provides a welcoming and supportive environment where your child will be given the tools and skills for success. If your child takes pleasure in drawing, they will thrive in this program. In our sequential and on-going weekly classes, young artists will develop their drawing skills, step by step. They’ll also significantly expand their creative thinking and problem solving abilities. These essential skills will transfer to many other areas in life and provide your child with numerous long-lasting benefits.

Step 4 is designed for students in grades 6 & 7. Students in this class will be increasing their skill level dramatically while defining their own unique artistic voices. They will explore in depth the principles of art including: balance, contrast, emphasis, pattern, unity, movement and rhythm. Students will gain continued confidence as they are introduced to three point perspective and advanced proportion techniques to accurately represent whatever they desire to draw, whether that be portraits, still-life, landscapes or animals. They will practice realistic subjects along with works that are stylized or cartooned. Students will develop original lettering styles to use on their own or incorporate into their artwork. They will interact with guest visitors from the local art community and others in creative fields to learn about how these individuals use art, drawing and creative thinking on a daily basis. The Step 4 class is where students determine what they have to say as an artist and begin to develop a cohesive style and a body of work.
