Overview: Spend a week turning your illustrations into glass art. Be inspired by beautiful, patterned glass creations seen in stained glass windows and Tiffany-style lighting, while learning about current fused glass artists that stand out in today’s art world! Get to know the tools in the Fused Glass studio and learn to utilize them to create a functional and decorative glass art.
You will begin each day learning the tips and tricks for drawing beautiful illustrations. Then you will take these illustrations and turn them into luminous glass pieces. Create a small, functional dish that will get slumped into a ceramic mold, a colorful candle holder that will get draped over a stainless-steel form and a light-catching sun-catcher that will get fired at a tack fuse to retain its texture. You will learn to use glass cold-working tools and how to properly load your artwork into the kilns for firing.
Some projects may need additional kiln time than the week allows. These projects can be picked up at Davis Studio within a week of the camp ending.
Cancellation Policy: Camp fees are non-refundable but can be transferred to a future session if a written request is received at least 14 days before the start date. Cancellations made within 14 days are subject to a 25% fee, and those within 48 hours are non-refundable/non-transferable. Multiple transfers may incur additional fees.
