Nature Journaling is an exciting way to create art outside of the studio walls. Learn to draw natural objects and landscape scenes from observation while immersed in nature. Each session, you will meet your instructor and cohort at an inspiring location such as Horsford Garden & Nursery (Charlotte), Oakledge Park (Burlington), or Starr Farm Park (Burlington). We will explore the grounds to find plants and natural scenes to document. Lessons will focus on creating the composition of a sketchbook page along with completing numerous botanical studies in both wet and dry media. Sign up for all sessions or purchase a la carte. Beginner and experienced artists welcome.

Davis Studio will supply paper, lightweight drawing boards, graphite pencils, micron pens, and watercolor pencils (including water and small paint brushes). Students will provide their own sketchbooks and any other art materials they wish to use while nature journaling. Optional/Recommended: phone with camera or camera, water bottle/snacks, portable chair, and bag for carrying supplies.
