Your child’s confidence will soar and they will beam with pride as they share their new drawing skills with you. The Creative Path Youth Drawing Program, provides a welcoming and nurturing environment where your child will be given the tools and skills for success. If your child takes pleasure in drawing, they will thrive in this program. In our sequential and on-going weekly classes, young artists will develop their drawing skills, step by step. They’ll also significantly expand their creative thinking and problem solving abilities. These essential skills will transfer to many other areas in life and provide your child with numerous long-lasting benefits.
Step 1 is designed for students in Kindergarten and First Grade. Students in this class will be encouraged to tap into their boundless imaginations. For this age group in particular, drawing is an important and essential form of communication. It is a way for young children to fully express themselves and to process their experiences. Children will draw imaginatively, but they will also become skilled at observational drawing using three dimensional objects. Students will increase their focus as they begin to notice the details needed to render an object, animal or person as they see it. They will have fun learning to effectively use the basic elements of line, shape and color to dramatically enhance their artwork. Students will learn the proper care of art materials as they are supported in maintaining their own personal art kit for classroom use. The Step 1 class is where your student will fall in love with art and to learn to tap into the power of their own creativity.
