Your child’s confidence will soar and they will beam with pride as they share their new drawing skills with you. The Creative Path Youth Drawing Program, provides a welcoming and nurturing environment where your child will be given the tools and skills for success. If your child takes pleasure in drawing, they will thrive in this program. In our sequential and on-going weekly classes, young artists will develop their drawing skills, step by step. They’ll also significantly expand their creative thinking and problem solving abilities. These essential skills will transfer to many other areas in life and provide your child with numerous long-lasting benefits.
Step 2 is designed for students in Second and Third Grade. Students in this class will be using a professional level art kit. They will be taught how to use artists’ tools and materials that will give them their desired results. Many of these tips and tricks will feel magical. Students will be introduced, for example, to artists’ pencils, charcoal pencils, micron pens and specialty illustration markers. Your child’s skills will improve rapidly as they focus on the fundamental elements of art including: line, shape, color, value, texture, space and form. Students will gain confidence as they learn how value (light and dark) can create three-dimensional forms on a two-dimensional surface. They will also practice developing cartoons and stylized illustrations. They will learn to see like an artist and determine what makes a good composition. The Step 2 class is where your student will feel empowered as they develop firm foundational skills.
