Watercolor: Color & Design Basics

We'll spend the morning exploring color (using professional watercolor paint) in depth - mixing, color choices, "how to avoid making mud", etc. In the afternoon we'll look at the basics of design - what makes "good" design, focal points, various tips and tricks to enhance your paintings. We'll be doing various exercises to highlight what you are learning in a fun, supportive, informative environment. Beginners and all levels welcome! No previous experience necessary.
Note about materials: You can bring your own materials, or purchase or rent a kit from the instructor. Please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org to indicate which option you prefer so we can prepare accordingly.
Purchase a professional sized palette watercolor kit from us (includes travel sized palette, paints & a few beginner brushes) $60 cash or check payable to instructor upon arrival.
Bring your own materials:
Palette & Paints: If you have professional quality paints, bring a large palette with 10 or more colors.
Brushes: 2 - 3 Round brushes with good point in sizes 10 or 12 and 18 or 20, flat brushes in size 1/2 inch or larger and a rigger brush. If you have other brushes, bring them and see how they work before purchasing more.
